What a great day for an Autism Benefit called “Rock N’ Roll for Nick” at the Jersey shore in Keansburg. The show was presented by Tattoo TonyBrian & Tatoo Tony who is Bret Michael’s personal tat man and an all around great guy who is an icon himself in helping the community by sponsoring benefits like this. To look at the man himself, and if I didn’t know him I most likely would be shit scared, but get to know him and his generosity and kindness is unmatchable. He is the President of Under My Skin NYDM Jersey chapter. New York Death Militia is keeping old time respect in check.

The show started at noon to a good-sized crowd. There were people from all walks of life from TV stars, Playboy centerfolds, rock stars, pro wrestlers, biker dudes, hot girls, young kids and families; you name it and they were there. My sidekick Mark Balogh and I were greeted at the door by Tattoo Tony and were welcomed into the VIP area; this was a class act benefit and sure to bring in a large sum to help out Nick. The donations were flowing and the raffled-off give-a-ways were unbelievable. After the first set of give-a-ways we had a chance to check out SAVIOUR’s live set and it brought the house down with a smoked filled stage and their raucous old-school metal. Their 30-minute set had people dead center with eyes focused. There were many acts to perform this day but RockEyez’ time was limited and we were only able to stay a few hours.

After SAVIOUR’s(click here for photos )set we went back to the VIP area once again and chatted with Rockeyez’ good friends Jose Hernandez Jr. (from the HBO series “OZ”) and Cheryl Bachman (1991 Playboy Playmate) about the days events and integrity and doing the right thing for those in need. Jose and CherylJose Cheryl & Brian are another couple people that are outstanding in their generosity within the community and have truly earned our great respect. After our chat, we talked a little to our new friends in the band KNOLLWOOD(click here for photos ) before their set and then headed over to munch down on some food provided by the Tiki Stadium. After that, we hooked up with Uncle Frank from Metal Noize TV for a bit and met up with our good friend Pompton Lakes Councilwomen Lisa Riggiola (formerly of Dexter’s).

KNOLLWOOD’s set was about to begin so we headed over to the stage and snapped photos as the young guitar god John Rieg floored the crowd.Brian, Lisa and a friend I heard many people in the audience ask the person next to them what the name of the band was as they were so impressed. For their young ages this 3-piece band simply blew the crowd at the Tiki away. Rumors are the band are about to get signed so we will keep you up to date on that and remember the name KNOLLWOOD. After that we mingled a little more before heading out as RockEyez had another event to attend with Steve Brown and Mark “Gus” Scott from TRIXTER as they were debuting their new 80’ metal cover act METAL CIRCUS which also features Ricky M’coy from west coast VAN HALEN tribute act the ATOMIC PUNKS, but more on them later.

All in all the function Tattoo Tony put on for Autism was spectacular and the NJDM did an amazing job reaching out to the community to make this all happen. Congrats to them!!! Some of the others that attended and bands that played were Eddie Capriani of DROPJAW, ROCK KANDY (the ultimate 80’s rock experience), FULL SCALE RIOT, exZAKKED, WITHOUT END, ADRENALIZE (DEF LEPPARD tribute), SLIPPERY WHEN WET (BON JOVI tribute), STIFF UPPER LIP , BOONE & GAMBLE, the kids SCHOOL OF ROCK, Under My Skin, Brimstone, Aleister Price, The Crusin’ Cripples, Gypsy Queen, Dara Boyd, Balls Mahoney, Smokin’ Tunz Production, Panek Production and others, not to mention Uncle Frank and Metal Noize TV.
