With high recommendations from Liz Hellman (CRASHDÏET s Dave Lepard’s mother) 44 CALIBER are bursting onto the scene in Sweden with high voltage powerful rhythms, in your face vocals and a dose of killer harmonies. This is no fly-by-night basement band; these guys can kick it up a notch and give fans a shock to the system. The opening track “Little Miss Trouble” sure has some elements of CRASHDÏET but drifts away with the vocals, which are a bit raw. Listening to the tracks I hear influences of vintage SKID ROW and maybe some GUNS ‘N’ ROSES. “Walls Of Silence” is an amazing track C.C. Rockets goes off the hook vocally and the slicing guitar’s of Chris and Divine are like molten metal being poured.
Check out “Fake”; do I hear KISS’ “Hide Your Heart” lyrics in the song? Sure sounds like it to me. “Too Many Lies” is another track I hear the “Hide Your Heart” influence again. Maybe I have KISS on the brain but I hear a lot of influence of KISS from the early days of Rock & Roll Over to even some FREHLEYS COMET. “Too Many Lies” kicks ass!
I simply love the track “Miles Away” as it slows things down a little but that just gives 44 CALIBER a chance to show diversity and shine in a different light. Ending the disc is “All These Wasted Years” and it sure will have the fans singing along.
This new release features tracks, which were on their first two EP’s recorded in 2008 and 2009. Two tracks “Little Miss Trouble” and “Walls Of Silence” were recorded at Sweet Studios and produced by Martin Sweet CRASHDÏET , Krissy Field and 44 CALIBER.
With a little polish 44 CALIBER should have no trouble in gathering new fans worldwide. They play hard, have good hooks and are amazing musicians. I can’t wait to hear the next disc.
