What a nice bunch young of boys we have here… if you want your neck snapped! The mullets are gone and flashbacks of true metal pour from the veins of AGE OF EVIL. These boys turn up the volume in the same mold as if MEGADETH met PANTERA back in the day.

Not too many newer metal acts impress me as the big bands did in their prime when I was on the staff of Metal Forces magazine. This must just be a phenomenon because these guys are indestructible and mind-blowing. Their style brings me back to seeing bands like TESTAMENT, EXDOUS and many others at L'Amour’s in Brooklyn, NY. AGE OF EVIL started out in 2005 as MORTUARY TRIBUTE and changed their name in 2006 to AGE OF EVIL and haven’t looked back since. Their latest EP “Get Dead” shredded the typical metal men of today and guitar gunner Jordan Ziff should be gracing the covers of Guitar magazines before you know it.

So let’s give this a spin…

The opening track “Cruel Intention” is amazing!!! Just as I said earlier, MEGADETH meets PANTERA. Vocally Jeremy Goldberg is raw and has a tasty specialty of a rough jewel waiting to be uncovered. Guitar GOD Jordan Ziff should be knighted. This guy WILL BE THE NEXT KING if all is just…. massive licks that explore technical and innovating guitar chords, I will guarantee once AGE OF EVIL gets noticed air guitar will also make a resurgence.

“Get Dead” not only shows the band has structure in writing but musically are powerful. The breaks and background vocals bring the songs to another level. Check out the fucking guitar work; unbelievable.

"Get Dead" features two cover songs too; “Slave To The Grind” SKID ROW and “The Hellion/Electric Eye” by JUDAS PRIEST. Both tracks are done with justice and actually should receive attention in their own right. Wait until you hear “Electric Eye”, especially, as it’s just amazing.

Also included are two live tracks “Eye For An Eye” and “Glimpse Of Light”, and listening to these guys you would have thought AGE OF EVIL have been in the music business for some time. Both tracks are moving and the sound quality is awesome.

I love these guys; young and so impressive and tons of room to grow. You better hear me and give these guys a listen. Metal at its finest; can’t wait for a full-length release!
