A Lower Deep - unusual music is something that comes to mind as you listen to their new CD, “Parable of the Thorn.” I don't quite know what to make of them as the vocals and the music seem to go in different directions. Nevertheless, their music is reminiscent of TOOL. Billy Mullican sounds like Geoff Tate (Queensryche) but doesn't have the range that Tate does. The music is dark sounding and slow. There is really nothing exciting on the CD. The way I see A Lower Deep - this is a band that is trying to be Queensryche and can't match them. I did not hear any songs that would stand out.
