For me, living in New Jersey the music scene today really is a letdown from past eras and yet not only the music but also the turnout of fans supporting bands is pitiful. People are so uptight just standing there with their arms folded and it just seems to give the impression “I paid, now show me something”. I also know the times are different, money is tight and many people are out of work so go to a show and let loose. Jersey does have some amazing bands and to me New Jersey is on the rise once again with some kick-ass bands playing their own music. Recently I had the chance to see AUDIO MACHINE who gave a chilling performance with great energy and a phenomenal vocalist named Dave Marcus. David contacted me a few days ago sending over their 2012 EP “Taste of Sin” so let’s hope the energy of their live show comes to life on disc.

The disc starts off with a heavy dose of bass lines by Roy Brunston and as the drums sound and guitar enter sounding like a tribal entity Dave Marcus takes hold of your senses with his vocals on “Hellbent”. The fusion-like guitar work by Marcelo Cardoso is mild and set back yet potent. It’s a nice start yet not over powering.

Track two “Eulogy” sets fire to the disc. Just an excellently arranged song that is uplifting with soaring guitar and the ambient sound that tantalizes your memory is pure perfection. This is the kind of song that will have you sit back and enter the dream world of AUDIO MACHINE. Excellent!“Bleed Like You” sure is a molded song in the same vain as ALICE IN CHAINS.  If you like AIC you’ll love AUDIO MACHINE. Their music is more about mind bending lyrics and energy then hell bent heavy metal.

Ending the disc is “Control” and it is a more fast-paced song then prior tracks. The song is more about the midsection of bassist Roy Brunston and drummer Chris Manfre but midway through the song guitarists Marcelo Cardoso kicks into high gear. Nice ending to a good start for AUDIO MACHINE.

As of this writing AUDIO MACHINE have a new guitarist Rob Tarulli (LOWBUZ) and they are presently writing new material for a 2013 release.
