Do you ever wonder how can a band that started back in 2000 (and released their first demo in 2002) can flow with the times, having been posed with the many obstacles including the passing of original vocalist Dave Lepard and then the departure of their second vocalist H. Olliver Twisted? Well CRASHDÏET has regrouped and have just released their third major- label CD “Generation Wild” with former JAILBAIT lead vocalist Simon Cruz.

Just listening to “Generation WildCRASHDÏET has a new and rejuvenated sound. Their style is still hardcore sleaze and the pummeling power chords bring these boys to new heights. Starting the disc off is “Armageddon”, which is a full-throttle massive blow to the eardrums. Sirens are blasting as a new era has arrived! Simon seems to the perfect remedy that brings the glow back to the band. Chills are running down my spine as it did in the beginning days of the band. Martin Sweet is a masterful guitarist and the midsection of bassist Peter London and drum-basher Eric Young will not deny stardom is coming their way. What a powerful opening song.

“So Alive” is classic CRASHDÏET and check those pipes of Mr. Cruz; amazing! Next up is the title track “Generation Wild” which is a song that bellows greatness. The killer harmonies is just one of the memorizing elements CRASHDÏET has mastered and no doubt fans new and old will applaud with amazement.

You like MÖTLEY CRÜE? Well you get a slight taste of early day CRUE with “Rebel”; check those bass lines of London on this one.

With a big directional change CRASHDÏET hit the melodic side of rock with “Save Her”. This is a song I would have never thought CRASHDÏET would ever record but I like it. It really shows the growth of the band and highlights Simon’s phenomenal vocal range.

“Down With The Dust” has the vibe of “Riot In Everyone” and the more and more I listen to Simon he reminds me of Mike Tramp of WHITE LION fame. This song is a killer track and I love every minute of it. Martin goes off the hook showing his expert chops.

Simon is a chameleon vocalist, every track he changes styles and that brings a new entity to CRASHDÏET. Check out “Chemical” this could be the track that pushes CRASHDÏET over the top. Love this track and it’s my highlight track on the CD. It shows CRASHDÏET in a new light. It’s got great songwriting and such a powerful song.

“Bound To Fall” shows once again CRASHDÏET is not your typical sleaze band. They bring a new vibe with “Generation Wild” and they don’t fall into that one category or genre anymore and have branched out to reach universal masses.

The final track “Beautiful Pain” is a ballad that will touch your soul. Leaving on a soft note CRASHDÏET has grown and you will hear definite change on Generation Wild. “Beautiful Pain” has a killer Slash style solo by Martin Sweet that you have to check out.

The band has always had strong song-writing capabilities and great musicianship. That seems evident more than ever, and although the vocals of Dave Lepard will never be replaced this band is the real deal and I advise you to check them out.
