When I heard “The Way of Your World" by DESTROPHY in 2009 it just blew me away. That same track was also originally recorded by DESTROPHY on their prior release in 2007 also titled “The Way of Your World". DESTROPHY is back in 2011 with their new offering “Cry Havoc” and it features ten pulsating and energetic tracks that will amaze fans.

Just listening to the new release DESTROPHY should conquer the market as they jump from a power-house melodic vibe to crunching heavy riffs that will bring metal fans rejoicing. Not sure what genre I’d say they fit into but DESTROPHY’s “Cry Havoc” has some amazing tracks and nothing in the way of sub-par.

The opening title track “Cry Havoc” starts thing off with pure power yet holds a melodic touch. One thing for sure, DESTROPHY has that magic touch of writing incredible choruses. You’ll it throughout the entire disc but especially on track two “We Are Alive”, which also is the first single and deservingly so, the song is so smooth and should be an anthem for these boys. You gotta roll your windows down and crank it up! I love it when a rock /metal band can hold the torch and write amazing tunes like this showing rock/metal is here to stay. Not stopping there as there is plenty more to come. Check out “Seven Nights”. GREEN DAY would be envious of songs like this as it has that tantalizing punk riff but metal rules over these boys. Singer, Ari kinda sounds like Michael Voss (MADMAX) on this one.

Now it’s time for some speed with “All My Life”… bang in the face and there you have it! It’s fast-paced yet once again an amazing chorus that brings the song to ecstasy.

It’s time for a classic rock tune with “Still Bleeding”. DESTROPHY showing a softer side with some slick guitar licks that scream. “Misery” could be a follow-up single as vocally Ari is stunning. Usually you don’t hear that about a metal vocalist as it’s usually a guy who sings ballads but Ari has that chameleon vibe that brings the goods. At times he can smack you down with the rock and at times can mellow the hearts and you can hear that on “Misery”.

And it’s not over yet as we have two more tracks, so don’t go away! On “It Ends Tonight”, the mid-section of Phil T on bass and drummer Joe Fox rule. This tune gives metal a new meaning.

After blasting your ears for a while DESTROPHY ends the record with a tasty power ballad titled “Hello”. What can you say about the new CD “Cry Havoc” by DESTROPHY except with the twists and turns going from horns up metal to a song that brings a tearful eye, this release will shine above many others in 2011. A KEEPER! Get it.
