Get ready for EKOTREN’S new CD “The Dead Of Night” . I can assure you if you like to thrash with your horns up to some metal/hard rock, these guys will not disappoint. The lead singer John Sheldon has the perfect voice for this genre of music. His scratchy, ripping, raw vocals have the kind of sound that make you want to form a “pit” in your living room just listening to the CD.

Combine this with Keith Finnell’s “sick” guitar playing, Derek DeSantis’ insane bass playing and Frank Jargiello’s wild technique of beating on the skins, we have a foursome that is right up there with some of the best well known acts such as SLIPKNOT .

EKOTREN’S , “The Dead Of Night” is just what we need right now in the middle of a society that pushes too much “Pop” music.

This is dark angry music with dark angry vocals. If you listen to the lyrics word for word, the theme stays the same, dark and angry. There is a message of pain in the tune “Dead Behind The Eyes”. Behind pain comes anger so these two feelings combined make for a great song to let off some steam to. It’s a great anthem for anyone who has been screwed over by a chick. This is my favorite tune on the CD.

The title track “The Dead Of Night” has a great intro and I love the chorus in this tune. In fact, all the tunes have great raw vocals incorporated with a melodic chorus. Track 5 “Mask Of Lies” starts right off with the raw, “let’s start a mosh pit” feel to it. I love the drums in this song. It’s heavy, hard and loud. If you are hardcore with your taste in music, then you are going to flip out over this CD.

This 10 track CD “The Dead of Night” is contagious. Anyone who likes to rock out heavy, EKOTREN is the band to do that to. The CD is being released on January 25th of 2011 and if you check out their website it will give you a bio, pics and all of the tour dates. If they are playing in a town near you, GO ! I saw these guys play at “LIVE X” in the bands hometown in Florida in 2009, they opened for STAIND , CHEVELLE and CAVO . They did an amazing job then and this new CD is going to allow EKOTREN to make waves in the music industry.

Check them out, go get a copy of “The Dead Of Night” and get your rock on !
