Emil Bulls latest release will make you cry Mama because even Mama is going to be impressed with the total control over expression on this CD. The CD has power and energy that makes snapping your neck fun. The glow around Emil Bulls is aggressive and almost gives you a feel of a new age Bowie. The music is hard to explain because at times you will think you’re listening to a heavy metal emo band gone astray.
The vocals are raw and energetic by Christ and the music can go in any direction. But when you get to “Newborn” you will say ‘Oh! That is what they sound like.’ “Newborn” is melodic and has an alternative sound like the Smashing Pumpkins. “These Are The Days” is a remarkable song and you will see why I say they have the vibe of Bowie with this song. “These Are The Days” is an exceptional song that has an aura of power. Great song!!! The guitar work is in the style of Alice Cooper guru Dick Wagner who also worked with Lou Reed. “At Fleischberg`s” is more of an eighties glam rock tune with vocals clutching you in a trance. This band has the right elements of chart topping songs. “Mongoose” is a sentimental love song that brought a tear to my eyes; thinking a loved one will ever leave you (I love you honey). “Friday Night” is an acoustic track showing Christ can deliver the goods.
This CD has it all and it should not be denied a listen; Emil Bulls also included a video for “Friday Night” and an interview on the CD.
