With the ever-loving changing landscape of music you never know what you’re going to get, but I guess that also includes the general population! By looking at GRAVE ROBBER you would think devil worshipers, Satanists and repulsive music. But on the contrary, GRAVE ROBBER play a vibrant pop punk style that has essences of DANZIG meets THE MISFITS. I love the imagery and music that possesses the soul of the band and they not only play hard their music is enjoyable.

GRAVE ROBBER released one CD in 2008 called “Be Afraid” which received favorable reviews and then came back in 2009 with their latest called “Inner Sanctum”. The opening track is a haunting instrumental that tinkers on suspenseful and then breaks into “Detonation A.D.” which is a hard-edged rocker with fast guitars and energetic vocals ala THE MISFITS. Vocally, Wretched is unique with great control and I particularly love his style. The heavy use of background vocals gives the sensation of crowd noise and adds excitement.

Check out “Shadows” which starts punk sounding then midway jumps to a fantastic rock tune and then back to punk. Love the ever-changing styles. “Altered States” is GRAVE ROBBER’s newest video and lead single of the album and it shows the band can shred with the best of them. These guys are classic with fun tracks and great hooks plus killer background vocals.

“Fear No Evil” (and many of the other tracks) could be other artists’ best tracks but since GRAVE ROBBER dares to challenge the music world with images of death.

Now some people might shun the band because of that. But guess what these guys play… It’s Christian music! Check the lyrics, some might be a little off-beat but the message is loud and clear.

“Tell Tale Heart” is just great. It has kind of an Elvis feel even with the classic background vocals. Once again vocally Wretched is sooooo good.

“The Night Has Eyes” starts off with a Boris Karloff narration and Lamentor’s guitar strumming some haunting licks. Some might call GRAVE ROBBER evil, some might call them talentless, some might call them a phase… All would be completely wrong as these guys are above the norm, are musically innovating and talented. They also have a great stage presence and are just unique with songs to make you think.

This is a great release to add to your collection if you’re intrigued but what I wrote.
