With their fifth studio release, the Connecticut based hardcore act HATEBREED is alive and well breathing hot, pulsating metal through the veins of a legion of fans. Heavy downbeats with shockwaves rattled my brain as these guys ripped it up on this new self-titled disc.

The first track that hits me is “Between Hell And A Heartbeat”. It shows unbelievable musicianship and it’s hard and evil beyond belief. Returning guitarist Wayne Lozinak catapults the new release above the norm and makes the grade big time.

“In Ashes They Shall Reap” has to be my favorite track. It has an arena-rock feel and anthem written all over it. I see the legions clinging to this one as the pit of fire circles the front of the stage. Jamey Jasta’s vocals are raw, but add a melodic hardcore chorus as fans will chant along with him I’m sure.

Total annihilation is in full-throttle with “Hands of a Dying Man” and the screaming guitar shatters your senses. The more and more I listen to HATEBREED I hear them having the same qualities as SUICIDAL TENDENCIES had back in the day. HATEBREED truly rip it up on this new release.

With the “gang vocals” on “Everyone Bleeds Now” it gives you that powerful live feel. And once again the guitars are amazing on this one too.

One thing I admire is the lyrics of HATEBREED; just check out “No Halos for the Heartless”. These guys have a voice not like most of us under lock and key of the MAN. We go by jobs that overrule our life and have no say, corruption is invoked in everything in everyday life and HATEBREED has overruled that element with fans having a release on life. HATEBREED kicks ass!!!

In a little different twist HATEBREED go mainstream with “Every Lasting Scar”. A catchy chorus with a blend of hard and melodic hardcore vocals; I like it!

On the stunning “Undiminished” the liner notes of this instrumental read… “When you listen to this, take a moment to visualize something or someone that you love, living or dead and know that their positive effect on you can remain Undiminished. It’s your choice.” Killer sentiment Jamey…

I love the fact that HATEBREED give the voice that most can’t have, but with all our aggression built up listening to their new CD we now have a release. THANK YOU!

HATEBREED do a great rendition of METALLICA’s “Escape” and a killer version it is.

In the special edition of this releaseHATEBREED also add their live show from 2009 at Download Festival in the UK. It’s great quality and you feel that you’re right there. You gotta see this DVD, it’s fucking amazing!!!
