Swedish rockers H.E.A.T have been busy in the studio with their new album “ Into The Great Unknown” and this album is exactly as the title suggest. The band leads you into a new territory which at first may seem unknown but eventually you’ll feel right at home recognizing the sound and music we’re used to enjoy from these guys.
I discovered H.E.A.T shortly after their “Address The Nation” album, which I thought would be a hard album to top. They managed to do just that when they released the amazing “Tearing Down The Walls”. I was lucky enough to see them perform songs from both albums at Melodic Rock Fest 4 back in 2014 and was blown away by their level of energy and talent.
How does a band follows two back to back masterpiece releases?!
Well seems like these guys have found the formula by trying to think outside the box and test new unknown territory while still sticking to the core of their sound and melodic trademark music.
The intro Bastard Of Society kicks off with the riffs and anthem chants expected from H.E.A.T. While the album has some surprise songs like the first two singles, the album as whole is a true follow up to TDTW.
Songs like Blind Leads The Blind and Do You Want It? are pure melodic rock candy for your ears.
Eye Of The Storm is a huge sounding song that builds up to a catchy chorus that will stay in your head for days.
The band closes this chapter of their legacy with title track Into The Great Unknown, over 7 minutes of the greatness we all know as H..E.A.T! It would be amazing if they performed this song live. Actually it would be even better if they would perform this entire album live from start to finish!
I’m pleased that H.E.A.T could follow up the last two albums with this strong release but the question is how will they top this one?!
