The grim, frostbitten masters of arctic eulogies return again with yet another shot of icy permafrost. This time around, the erratic and often undecipherable has been thrown to the blizzard winds, replaced by a captivating melodicism not heard since BATHORY'S brazenly epic “Blood, Fire, Death”. Pummeling their way through thick swathes of snow you can practically see the winter warriors foraging for victims whilst the hectic dervish of “Arctic Swarm” hammers away and smell the blood of their pugilistically conquered quarry soaking the soil during “Hordes to War.”
The structures are quite cinematic in arrangement composition lending the songs a very imaginative landscape. One cause for concern will be the initial fear that this album in no way lives up to nor surpasses it's predecessor “Sons Of Northern Darkness”, but upon repeated investigation it's charm lies in how it grows in your cranium, slowly lurking and lurching like a rabid, mist ridden fungus. Once again triumphant and once again undefeated, IMMORTAL stake their claim with broadswords and heavy maces at the ready!!
