In 2007, the classic KROKUS lineup of Marc Storace, Chris Von Rohr, Fernando Von Arb, and Freddy Steady reunited on Swiss TV to perform a medley of “Tokyo Nights”, “Bedside Radio”, and “Heatstrokes” to be honored as being of the greatest Swiss bands of all time…It was only supposed to a one off reunion as at the time Marc Storace had a different lineup of KROKUS still together recently releasing the “Hellraiser”record…To their surprise at this show each band member was given life time achievement plaques by the Swiss Recording Industry honoring their record sales in Switzerland…Each KROKUS release has been certified platinum in their native Switzerland…

Fast Forward to 2009 the classic lineup decided to reunite played a sold out stadium show in Switzerland…Also Mark Kohler also rejoined on guitar…He played on KROKUS records in their classic era as well…In Feb of 2010 their long awaited classic lineup reunion record “Hoodoo” was released in the bands native Switzerland and has already gone platinum and the record was released in the United States on 5/25/10 via Sony/Columbia Records…

It’s an excellent record that I will review track by track…

01. “Drive It In”-the opening track off…Classic KROKUS sound start to finish…You can’t ask for more…

02. “Hoodoo Woman”-the first single off of Hoodoo…Excellent video made as well…Hopefully rock radio station in the United States pick up on this song immediately because it will be a major hit…

03. “Born To Be Wild”-a remake of the STEPPENWOLF classic, it ain’t no secret that KROKUS has covered other songs such as “Ballroom Blitz” from Sweet, “Schools Out” from Alice Cooper…They perform the song their own way and do it their best…

04. “Rock N' Roll Handshake”-another great tune. Great guitar playing, vocals, and drumming. They always had the sound of Bon Scott era AC/DC

05. Ride Into The Sun-You call this the sequel to Screaming In The Night…This is one of the top tracks off of Hoodoo

06. “Too Hot” very melodic radio friendly…This could be another hit if the record company does it job…

07. “In My Blood” if you are familiar with the KROKUS release Hardware this sing can easily sound like it was from that record. Great job…

08. “Dirty Street”-this song has more of a blues feel and its good all around. Definitely should be appreciated by all…

09. “Keep Me Rolling” another great song indeed off of Hoodoo. Any similarities to Hell Aint A Bad Place To Be from AC/DC?

10. “Shot Of Love” excellent song all around…

11. “Firestar” the heaviest song off of Hoodoo and the closing track. You can’t ask for a better ending…

Overall I rank this record a 10 out of 10…So far the record is doing well according to Amazon and hopefully we will see another arena rock record on Billboard by the time of this posting…
