You know the music industry is on shaky ground and to be a starving artist you have to make sacrifices and same here at RockEyez.com. I was contacted by guitarist Cliffy, who wanted to send a download file of the new upcoming release “Worldshaker”. We just do not review downloads on our site because we would be bombarded with even more e-mails than we already get; but after I went to the MAIN LINE RIDER’s Myspace and listened to some of their tunes from their last CD “Shot In The Dark” I decided that we would make an exception and do the review.

I really don’t know much about the band so I checked out reviews from their last release and I see high marks across the board and the first thing I noticed was the comparison to AC/DC and that is evident throughout the CD. So let’s get to it from the upcoming release “Worldshaker”. The opening track “It All Ends Tonite” is a good opener with anthem-style background vocals for the kiddies to sing along too. Vocalist Shawn Edward Browning is a clone of Bon Scott and the musicianship is truly a mimic of AC/DC, with power chords, echoing drums and thunderous bass lines.

“Throwin' Bones To The Wolves” mixes it up a bid with reminiscent vibes of THIN LIZZY’s “Jailbreak” combined with the AC/DC power. “Hell Ain't A Good Place To Be” starts off ala “Hell’s Bells” then rocks into a great bouncy tune that pumps up the levels.

One thing is vocal fucker Shawn Edward Browning has some powerful pipes and as a whole these guys can produce. I know everyone will compared them to AC/DC and say they are just a copy band but that’s not true if you listen to the complete “Worldshaker” CD.

If “Comin' Home” is the first track, and you would have no clue they even sounded like AC/DC on this track, and it is a killer! It shows off the great vocals of Browning and the drumming by Adam Dee is not too shabby either. This is one heluva song in the power ballad mold. Great song!

Another kick ass tune is “Broken Hearted” as it can just about raise the dead! You need no shock waves just pop this bitch in your CD deck and a crowd will appear! I love these guys and the guitar by Cliffy and Matthew Kenenske is dazzling. My favorite track has to be “Chrome & Steel”; just check this gem out for yourself. Take a listen to Cliffy… he kinda has that Frehley vibe don’t he?

Jumping to the last track, “It’s A Revolution” is another pumped up tune that will have your adrenalin at a high point. Fans of early AC/DC will adore this one and if you’re a hard rock fan that’s into heavy power chords and Bon Scott-style vocals this is a keeper!
