Ya know it’s really sad that with all the dedication from a establish band or a band on the rise tracks or a full-release gets leaked and this is the case with PALISADES. Their new release “Outcasts” just coming days from release has been leaked. We have been covering the band for the past five years as they grown and gained momentum. Last year we reviewed their EP “I'm Not Dying Today” that garnered 4.5 Stars and with “Outcasts” their looking to make their mark on this full-length release.
The opening track “We Are All…” starts with shining keys and once Miceli vocals enter you can just feel the excitement of a new entity… Masterful and melodic the caressing vocals calm the nerves and midway through the track bombardment attacks the senses. Sure to be and opening anthem PALISADES have pushed the level of excitement to new heights.
Hitting heavy down chords “Your Disease” is raw in nature yet bringing screams of joy to the masses. I’m really excited by the production and the masterful lyric of PALISADES. In a short time these guys have went from street corner vendors to mass appeal. The swirling guitar work of Xavier Adames, Matthew Marshall and Earl Halasan add the triple threat and with the midsection of Aaron Rosa drums and bass master Brandon Reese these guys are explosive.
The title track “Outcasts” sure will bring notoriety with addition of featured vocalist Andy Leo of CROWN THE EMPIRE but you have to give big time credit to the backing vocals that are riveting and adds depth to the song.
You wonder why a band like PALISADES needs guests on their release when you figure they want all the credit and fame. PALISADES are a new breed and replenish the excitement and you will hear that on “Reckoning” that features Chris Roetter LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES.
Same thing with the following track “High & Low” featuring Tyler Carter ISSUES. For me this is the best track on the disc. The vocals skyrocket and the throttling bass lines by Brandon Reese and the eclectic timing of drummer Aaron Rosa make this a key track that goes from a stone to a gem. Vocally stunning!
“Betrayed” turns the corner with great harmonies and the mild vocals that rip the chord at points. Really like the raw sound of Miceli that is chameleon like. He can hit the high notes yet shred the chords at precise moments. The heavy duty guitar work of Marshall, Adames and Halasan are exceptional and can shiver the membranes into lobotomy mode.
Looking for some diversity check out “Sidney”, a love song that is sultry and sensitive that shows PALISADES are not a one directional band... AAAHHHH annihilation is hitting and the adrenalin rush is on with “Scarred” The guitars are pumping, Miceli is screaming yet smooth’s things over midway through the track. I love the diversity on “Outcasts” it brings a sense of calm to hitting with the knockout punch. Looks as if PALISADES are on the fast track and Rise Records have a winner. |
