With a band that has had longevity and success since the eighties and is still cranking it out as we speak THE QUIREBOYS look to add to their acclaimed history by releasing a purely delightful acoustic CD titled "Halfpenny Dancer".

Once a band is known for their rowdy stage presence and can really turn it up on stage you never know what’s going to come in the future but "Halfpenny Dancer" is just an unbelievable stand for rock and roll. I myself love acoustic work because it really shows the pure sense of a band and how good musically the members are and THE QUIREBOYS shine with grace and elegance for sure.

The opening track "There She Goes Again" has a strong balance of a country feel and heavy rock roots. Lead vocalist Spike will always be known for his raspy Rod Stewart-style vocals but this guy has class. THE QUIREBOYS are true rockers at heart and drive the songs with strong vocals and great musicianship. "Devil Of A Man" is a masterpiece that puts you in a calming mood. The chorus and background vocals are the backbone of a good track and these boys nailed it. UFO did it with "Love To Love" and THE QUIREBOYS do the track justice. What a spectacular rendition. (Applause!!!!)

"Mona Lisa Smiled" blows me away with how good can these boys be. The song runs smooth and with the acoustics of Guy Griffin and the strings added makes this a special song. I have been listening to "Halfpenny Dancer" over and over again and it gets better each time.

"Can't Stop Loving You" has a feel of TRAIN’s "Drops of Jupiter" but when you reach "Roses And Rings'" you know "Halfpenny Dancer" is a CD that needs to be heard. If you like to cuddle up with your woman and dream, this release must be added to your collection.

There are just so many great tracks and once you hear those great guitar chords strumming away with the piano and strings added it gives you an unbelievable feeling. Spike Gray gives the performance of legends and I love this release. Fantastic!!!!!
