Here at Rockeyez we’ve been following SISTER SIN since 2005 and ever since then they have grown immensely. Front woman Liv is a true talent (and not to mention great eye candy). Her vocals can be compared to early MÖTLEY CRÜE which I have mentioned in every review we did with the band. Their latest offering “True Sound Of The Underground” is a pummeling array of slashing guitar and pure energy. Listening to the new CD compared to the last one “Switchblade Serenades” I still feel the power but I don’t think the tracks are as commercial which is not a bad thing. I mean there are not many tracks that can be compared to the song “On Parole” (from the “Switchblade Serenades” CD) which just blows my mind. But “True Sound Of The Underground” is a step further in the growth of the band.

Starting things off is “Sound of the Underground” which is fast-paced and a metal dream come true. Just imagine CRÜE back in the day running to the front of the stage and knocking the shit out of the crowd. This is SISTER SIN throwing the punch this time around. Hard, heavy, and astounding this is what metal is all about not those laid back piece shit bands that want to look pretty. This is hard core annihilation, power and in-your-face metal. Track two “Outrage” is a great heavy hitter one of my favorites on the disc. Jimmy, damn you kick the shit out on this track and just listen to those volatile drums by Dave… amazing. This is an outstanding track.

You know time after time I hear some killer bands but they just can’t bring the excitement that you will hear with SISTER SIN. This is a phenomenal band with a rounded-out nucleus that oozes greatness. If you’re looking for a pop tune or a ballad on here forget it. This has all horns-up adrenaline at its finest. Fast, heavy and to the point, great harmonies, fantastic vocals and musicianship beyond compare. Like I said this is not as commercial as “Switchblade Serenades” but this is even better. Hardcore metal fans will rejoice with fists in the air with one spin.

One of the most accessible tracks has to be “Times Aren't A-Changing” which has a great chorus and Liv totally shines on this vocally. The guitar work by Jimmy is burning throughout the entire disc and is just amazing!

“Nailbiter” is one of the most commercial tracks but still holds the metal edge. Hard background vocals which give way to Liv’s powerful vocals that are extremely aggressive.

“The Devil I Know” is another fine tune that wreaks attention; heavy guitar with raw and rough emotion that brings the rush. Benton’s bass lines are prominent as he rolls the thunder as the arena feel shines through.

This is the best SISTER SIN release to date. It has emotional adrenalin, power and amazing lyrics. SISTER SIN will be touring the US in July supporting M.S.G. so if you’re looking to catch the fire before it ignites catch SISTER SIN this time around, you will be amazed! Don’t forget to pick up the new CD “True Sound Of The Underground” this month and give it the horns up as it deserves!
