With three demos under their belt and some personnel changes, Italian rockers SOVVERSIVO has released their first full length CD “Wild Emotion” full of pure delight.

The band started back in 1998 and released a 3 track demo called “The Incredible Demo” in 2000 with two additional 3 track demos in 2002 and 2003. With all three demos only three of those tracks ended up on their full length release “Wild Emotions”.

I have listened to the CD over and over again and these boy shred musically with guitarist Matteo Serra shining, vocally, Andrea Uboldi is a little rough around the edges and it will take a bit of listening to get the full effect but SOVVERSIVO is still a powerhouse.

The opening instrumental “Int(r)o the Wild” which is an intro pummels you with Angus Young style power chords by Matteo Serra making way into the first track “Wild Emotions” which screams brilliance. The musicianship is just unbelievable with Serra leading the pack as he slams the power chords and rips some great solos.

You think these guys are just about annihilating tunes, check out “Brave Guide” this melodic rocker brings the total package to SOVVERSIVO, just listen to Matteo on this one.

If you took parts Ozzy, ACCEPT, TATTOO ROSE, SCORPIONS and maybe some PRIEST you would get SOVVERSIVO! These guys bust nuts as they rivet off great tunes with power. “Out of Time” has arena anthem written all over the tune with the heartbeat drumming by Gianluca Luci and pulsating bass lines of Federico Gassa making this a headlight track.

If you’re looking for some pop, check out “Silent Hero”, a song which has to be the encore at their shows. A great sing-a-long song that blows the roof off and once again has Matteo slashing the boundaries of modern day guitarists. Andrea Uboldi really pushes this one to another level as his vocals are extreme.

Another great tune is “Alone Tonight”, with some melodic vocals it is just another ass-kicking track that will be a burnt memory and for me listening to Matteo Serra; my best comparison would be Jake E. Lee as his searing guitar sings.

If you’re looking for a great CD that has great metal tunes with shredding guitar licks this is the one. Check these guys out!
