After two EP's and a long wait, we finally have it, the new VANITY INK full-length debut CD "On Your Skin." We became friends with the band back in 2004, when they released their first EP "Roadkills" which was a good start for the band and got a good review, the second EP came in 2005 "Vanity Is A Full Time Job" it lacked excitement, yet I knew the band would overcome this draw back.
2007 a fresh look, VANITY INK releases "On Your Skin" with eleven tracks of the best music since the band first started in 2002. The sound, the excitement is in full force and easy on the eyes Annabella and her amazing vocals drive this effort home. The production and sound quality are perfection making this CD a euphoric release.
The opening track "On Your Skin" my first thoughts are 'what the hell?!', did VI go soft with the acoustics, nah, hold on to your ears because the INK cranks it up. Some great lyrics, background and harmonies make this track have a full sound. "Voyeur Boy" is the first track that makes me shiver not only by the sound but you can feel the evolution of the band through a unit of tight musicians and look to breakout in 2007.
You have to check the cover and inner pictures of the band especially the back cover of the band having some fun and the picture of Annabella spread eagle, which for many will be uplifting, if you know what I mean.
Annabella's vocals seem a bit different this time around more in the vein of Doro Pesch. The band has grown and matured with the writing on this release and should see much more success. Just about every track will be someone's favorite because there are many that have the element of ecstasy.
My particular favorite tune is "Living a Dream", no "Sucker", no "Inside", no "Any Day Now" I give up. I can't pick my favorite all I know is this is a CD that has to be added to your collection. Juha you outdid yourself on this one, full throttle power. I need a date with Annabella.
