You know bands come and go and they need that one element for success. Money is good but success and longevity brings fame & money. We have good music all around us every day but you still need that one hook that will be burnt in your memory forever. Retrospect records recently signedWILD STREET, a New York City band that should make it to the big time in no time at all.

Singer Eric Jayk looks a bit like Michael Monroe and this guy has some pipes. Check out the opening tune “Wanna Get It On” sounding like “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and being compared to multiplatinum artists like DEF LEPPARD only shows the expertise in WILDSTREET. With an arena rock feel “Hard On You” slashes with duel leads and brings higher elevation of greatness.

If heavy harmonies classic hooks and great songwriting don’t make WILD STREET an instant success, their charismatic front man Eric Jayk will. Their killer rock ‘n ballad, “For So Long, “ is one of my personal favorites. But their ultimate song is “Soldier of Love.” It reminds me of BON JOVI meets Cory Hart’s “Sunglasses at Night”, sweet hooks, great guitar licks and kick ass harmonies.

I would have never thought I would hear a strong rock instrumental until now but “Midnight Gypsy” totally rocks. If you don’t believe me then take a listen when you pick up the CD.

Tell me “Open Up Your Eyes” doesn’t have the LEPPARD flavor, sure does. These boys are just magic. I have been waiting for an East coast band to drop me; I mean West coast got those DIRTY PENNY boys and we finally got a great band and I am damn proud we have a rock n roll icon with WILD STREET.

“The Fist Of Fury” might be my favorite track, I hear MSG knocking, I can just see these boys starting as openers but “We got the Fist, The fist of fury and WILD STREET will raise hell soon, as the light is burning bright. ANTHEM!!!

When the glitter rock classic “All The Young Dudes” comes on, pump it up. I give props to WILD STREET because they do an amazing rendition. I was singing along and I hope all you will, with an unheard move by Retrospect they will bring newly signed WILD STREET to the stages at Rocklahoma this year..

As a bonus track, you will get an acoustic version “Soldier Of Love” that put me to the floor. I am a big fan of acoustic work and with guitars blazing and the vocals by Eric Jayk this one will melt hearts.

You couldn’t ask for more from a debut release by WILD STREET. The hard-edged rhythm section of bassist Ali Hassan and drummer Beck provide a phenomenal foundation for the triple threat guitars of Eric Jayk, Jimmie Marlowe and Keith Robert. I promise if you pick this CD up you will hear some of the best hooks, most potent guitar licks, and songs that will make your heart pound with excitement. All I have to say is WOW!!!
