The new CRY ENVY disc is just about ready to hit “Welcome To My House” that was engineered and co-produced by Jeff Northrup at his studio Alien Productions who also produced the latest Ted PoleySmile” CD.

Brian Roxxy front man explains:

‘we did a first disc and weren’t happy with the sound quality, for the second release we went in with the world famous JK Northrup and clearly the quality is perfection.’

CRY ENVY is on the forefront of bringing sleaze rock back to the modern day. With technology and venues such as MySpace the band have a chance to hit new fans worldwide, since the US is really not leading the charge like the Europeans. CRY ENVY can reach out to those markets and make a name for themselves until the US comes out of hibernation.

Roxxy’s vocals can be compared to an early version of Chris Laney but musically the band draws comparisons to vintage MÖTLEY CRÜE. The first track that caught my attention is “Get A Little Naughty” that has that CRÜE drive.

“Nothing I Can Do” slows things down with a sentimental ballad as I had a chance to evaluate the musicianship and quality of Roxxy’s vocals, they are quite good and musicianship has a style similar to QUEENSRYCHE on this particular track.

For a first time listener of CRY ENVY, the band has the style of sleaze, punk and rock and delivers a hard edge to their songs with some good background vocals. It’s a good start but nothing to get excited over YET! I would think one of the best tracks would be “You On Me” that shows great potential and if these boys can spark up more songs on the line of this one there going places.
