You might call DYNAZTY a Swedish “supergroup” of sorts with members George Egg and Joey Fox formerly of FOXEY, John Berg of SHARP and Rob Love from ZAN CLAN. But the band took some time finding the vocalist that would solidify that status, finally deciding on Nils Molin. Nils, a gracious gentleman, helped out H.E.A.T last year during some live shows when their vocalist Kenny Leckremo had to have heart surgery. But Kenny has since returned and Nils has now returned to DYNAZTY.
DYNAZTY just finished up their new demo of four tracks that was recorded at Polar Studios with Chris Laney producing. What’s nice about the music scene of today is that you can check some of the live footage studio work at The Polar Studio blogs and YouTube.
Let’s get into some of the disc which has elements of GUNS N ROSES and DEEP PURPLE (IAN GILLIAN-era) yet adds a great sense of the sleaze sound and with heavy harmonies. “Lights Out In Candyland” is an unusual title but with the amazing guitar work of Love & Berg and the addition of Nils vocals it makes the track stunning.
“Catch The Night” has the anthem sound running through DYNAZTY’s chords; you gotta check the vocals out on this one. My favorite track “Far Away” is a sensitive ballad that’s uplifting and has the magic to make DYNAZTY a household name. The screaming guitars, blazing acoustics and pounding drums are magical.
The heaviest track, “The Devil’s Shake”, slashes any kind of simplistic musicianship and certainly crowns
DYNAZTY as the new high and mighty of Swedish rock. Nils vocals are just unbelievable throughout. Check these boys out!
