You looking for excitement, well you came to the right place when hearing FULL SCALE RIOT. Former members of MOD, PROPAIN & THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will turn heads with their hardcore adrenaline rush. The opening tune “Best Of Me” is a full blown annihilation on your membranes but I love the complete package. You would figure with the breathe taking hardcore FSR play they would be the demons of rock, but to the contrary the band can rock with great harmony and killer vocals that have elements of past icons. This isn’t a band that has no direction, they write good lyric with hooks that set them apart from other hardcore acts.
“Holy Solider” is another tune that changes direction from chants of “Holy Solider” to a melodic screamer. The opening chords are METALLICA like but changes quickly to hardcore with McMurtrie adding his down tuning guitar riffs.
With a gunshot being fired “Guilty By Association” sounds, The drumming by Rob Youells makes a huge impact on this tune and the harsh vocals roar as hardcore chants of Guilty by Association enter.
Listening to “Live Life” these boys really work hard on lyric and music. Don’t think it’s all about being so hard, you really have to check out the songs. I’m sure FSR were fans of traditional and classic rockers before turning hardcore.
My favorite track is “Hellgirl” which shows a softer side of hardcore but still has that edge.
Rob Moschetti vocals are raw but show expertise in range. Just give these guys a chance and you will see the light is glowing bright!!!
