You know, when we started RockEyez years ago our main goal was to help out the new and upcoming bands as well as focusing on the established artists. For myself, I love finding new bands and giving exposure to the newcomers. Just look at our year in reviews each year with the Best Of; you will find bands that are making waves as new artists. So make sure you keep sending in those demos for review, you never know, you could be the next band on our 2009 Best of.

Now to the review at hand…

STALLION FOUR is one of those newcomers out of Uppsala, Sweden. Formed back in 2006 and having signed a deal with SMP records; and the gem of it all, the EP will be released on Vinyl. Anyway STALLION FOUR play hard driving classic rock in the form of TED NUGENT with a vocal style of TATTOO ROSE. I love the opening track “Devil In Me” as it really brings back a youthfulness to classic rock.

“Burn” brings the adrenalin rush to the forefront as these Swedes show a style that’s missing from today’s era. The vocals by Björn are raw and rough and it’s a perfect match for the music they play. The traditional rock sound of STALLION FOUR really hits the spot and I hope they stay true to the raised fist of rock.

Playing classic rock you have to have the heartbeat of good background vocals and you will hear that on “The Train” and with the swaggering guitar chords of Peter you have a great midsection that can kick it up.

Ending the EP is “Tied Up” and it has a ZEPPELIN feel but still holds the STALLION FOUR sound. I would keep on eye on these guys as they move up the ladder!
