Victory recording artist 1997 will be tearing up the charts with their vibrant sound and sweet sound of enticing melodies. Right off the bat, the excitement emanates from “Water’s Edge” through Kevin Thomas’ sensation charismatic vocals while Kerri Pepp pumps up the background vocals giving this song all it needs to stand tall among the rest.
1997’s lineup includes ex-members of suburban emo giants CONSTANCE, as well as FUNERAL ETIQUETTE (metal core/screamo) and of course, rising pop rock icons OCTOBER FALL (Fueled by Ramen Records) among others.
1997 is not one of your generic bland alternative repetitive bands. They are alive with strong multi-vocalists that add dept to their songs and what really brings the sound to life is Kerri Pepp.
Kerri’s husband Caleb’s guitar work is flashy and adjusts well with each tune. You have to check out “Grace” with Kerri taking over lead vocals she could pass for the second coming of Lisa Loeb. I am hoping 1997 will be on this year’s Warp Tour, which would be a great addition. Check out 1997 and pick up their new release on Victory Records “… A Better View of the Rising Moon”.
