Dave Ellefson brings his new band F5 to the forefront of the music world of power driven sounds to the heart. Clear-cut this is no laid back effort from F5. The music is pulsating and riveting that will make your head spin. The vocals are unique in the vein of new comers’ Carnival of Souls’ Lee Cee. Steele, formerly of SICK SPEED, will bring major attention to F5 with the charisma and essence he possesses.
The music is melodic with catchy hooks yet still keeping that hard edge a la Disturbed. “A Drug For All Seasons” will give a fresh start for Ellefson as he branches out to a more diverse fan base. “Hold Me Down” is a fantastic song that will mess with many different genres of musical styles. It has that glam/sleaze vibe and still pouncing on the heavy metal side of music. This would make a great video and should be just one of the songs that will give national notoriety to F5.
“X'd Out” is another great tune with Steele changing his vocals more in the vein of Living Colour's Corey Glover. The lead guitar work by Steve Conley is extreme as he hooks up with rhythm guitarist John Davis giving that element of class and Ellefson is so seasoned that you feel the blood running through your veins. This is an amazing debut that will let Dave look to the future and forget bad memories of the past long forgotten.
