It’s obvious from seeing ANTIPRODUCT’s image; the band has tried too hard to attract a crowd. Sadly, I can’t say the same for their newest release “Made in USA.” Their music can be described as a cross between the B-52’s and some rock/punk elements. If you feel offended by such a description and want to hit the back button on your browser, please do so, this album fails to pull off anything lively and is plagued by repetitive lyrics and beats. Also, throughout the tracks, a formula is followed with the female vocalists (Milena Yum, Marina Metallina and Clare pproduct) repeating A. Product’s chorus’ over and over again.
Hearing “yea, yea”, “na, na, na” and “ah ah, ah ah” constantly really makes me want to throw this CD out the window at times. I’ll thank Brian for that.
Putting the “ouch” parts to the side, “Made In USA” have a few charms, music wise, including “Better Than This” and “Turnin’ Me On”. Besides that, the album is poorly constructed and feels rushed at times. Don’t be fooled by ANTIPRODUCT, image means nothing without the music to back it up. Rock On?
