Sirens screaming, deep vocals, thrashing and heavy down chords can best describe AOP. Rip roaring “Back to the Real Life” brings speed to another level. Deep dark power chords, hard and melodic vocals with whispers and anger best describe “Left (H) Over” as it hits you with a vibe of METALLICA.
The vocals by Jean-Baptiste "Jibex" Baumont will leave you with a sore throat. AOP are not just about being hard because they also have changing styles. Check out “Empty Fool,” this song is killer and you’ll have a totally different feel listening to the song. The vocals are much better with the mixing of different vocalists. What is this on track four “Another Game to Lose”, pianos and keyboards? As heavy as AOP are why are they trying to compete with Biz Markie or GWAR… because that’s what they sound like!
The music itself is exceptional at times as “Wicked Inside” shows the versatility in the band. I like the more melodic side of the band verses the growling side. I have no idea what direction the band is headed because from track to track you don’t know what you’re going to hear. I guess we’ll have to see with their next release.
