AVALANCH, a band hailing from Spain release their seventh CD called “Mother Earth” on Xana Records. The first release came in 1997 “The Eternal Llama.” I must say this is the best CD I have received in awhile. AVALANCH brings the best musicians to the table on “Mother Earth.” “One Hundred Times,” track-two, you can just feel the vibe of the band. They have the sound and feeling of early Queen (Freddy Mercury). The vocals by Ramón are just outstanding. He is not a “Mercury” sound a like but reminiscent of his vocal style. The guitar work and the musicianship you hear is a mix of power metal with grandeur of a symphonic masterpiece. These guys just totally blew me away. “Come to My Arms” blends melodic sounds with heart- pounding metal. It is just a killer tune!!! Some of the songs include narration, which adds to the story-like quality. As I listen on my headphones, I hear the guitars bouncing from ear to ear…what an amazing sound. I recommend that everyone go and get this CD it is phenomenal. The harmonies and chorus on “No More Damage” just show how AMAZING this band is. Track-five “Dawn” a ballad, which doesn’t have the catchy hooks that most ballads do, yet it manages to touch me enough to bring a tear to my eye. The last track on the CD is a rendition of U2 “Where the Street Have No Name” that sounds great. BUY THIS CD.
