Bai Bang…OK - I know you are going to ask what kind of a name is that? It really doesn’t matter what your name is as long as you can back the music up. BB has been around for a couple years touring with Pretty Maids, LA Guns, Union, and Bruce Kulick. They recorded several CDs and decided to put out a Best of CD before their next release at the end of this year. For a band that has not cracked the US market I like the idea.

They have six releases and for a band I know not too much about, I’d rather hear a Best of CD than buying all six CD’s. Plus I am getting 20 tracks of hard rock glam music in the vein of L.A. Guns and Aerosmith.

“Rock N` Roll City” is a cool song that could fit in the mold of a Kiss tune; it has good riffs and that traditional Kiss sound. I’m surprised the band is not more popular then it is having some great pop melodic songs and with the resurgence of glam sleaze metal they could be hitting the market at the right time. If these guys were around in the late eighties I am sure they would be one of top bands. “Make My Day” has to have of the best harmonies and background vocals I have heard. Many of the songs will have riffs you think you know like “Get Off” has chords like RATT. “Only The Strong” has the guitar work of DEF LEPPARD and “Peepin Tom” is like POISON. If that is the worst thing I can say about the CD I wouldn’t mind being in the company of those bands.

I mean, from song to song they are another band like T. REX, WHITE LION, MOLLY HATCHET, RICK DERRINGER, BONFIRE - even STRYPER. The only thing that I was not happy with was the production of the CD. The music and songs were great, but the production was piss poor. If this could have been done with better quality and production it could have been a killer CD.
