Blindside will release the latest disc “The Great Depression” in August 2005 on DRT Entertainment Records. The new disc proves that Blindside is not a one album sensation. The vocals this time around have the vibe of Bono (U2) and Robert Smith (The Cure) with hardcore screams. The band is known for being in the Christian faith of music and I am still feeling that heavenly vibe especially with “Put Back the Stars.”
“Fell In Love With The Game” will be a classic tune and will be heard on many AOR stations. It has that Beatles and Redwalls sound that brings the best out in BLINDSIDE. Another track that will set Blindside on fire will be “We Are To Follow” as Christian Lindskog has the aura about his vocals in the same manner Bono (U2) engulfs your mind.
“My Alibi” reminds me of a wild song back a few years by KING MISSILE called “Detachable Penis” because it has the slow talking lyrics with unique music. This release will not let the hardcore fans down as it does have some hard crunching songs such as “Come to Rest.” It also has its softer side with “This Time” that has lots of harmonies and a good chorus. Ending the CD is a great tune called “When I Remember” that will easily make the charts. The New Blindside CD can be called music for all genres because that is what it is - Melodic, Heavy, Hardcore, and Alternative.
