Jay Michael Lamm and Donald Keith Warman are Cea Serin. They came together in 1997 to do a three-song demo – Which received many reviews from the press. Both were impressed by the excitement and in late 1999, Jay along with Keith recorded and released their second CD "Cea Serin- Chiaroscuro". 2003/04 we have the new CD from Cea SERIN “When Memories combine.”Jay and Keith mix up the symphonic power metal with raspy vocals. Sound similar to a Dream Theater. During many of the seven songs they have a radio commentary. The music is excellent but is on the borderline of power metal and dark metal. So I am not sure if the CD will find the right audience to bring the CD to the right stream of fans. The guitar play is high octane and at times phenomenal. The CD is more suited for a movie or play. Maybe that was the intention of the band. It is a good effort. Track-five “ Scripted Suffering: Within and without ” would be more appealing to King Diamond fans. The balance is a little strange; it goes from harsh dark metal to acoustic guitar. It is like a story, has it highs and lows. Interesting!!! Check out “ Into the Vivid Cherishing” guitar work ala Yngwie. Song is lengthy 12 minutes and thirty-two seconds. The musicianship on the CD is overwhelming but will CEA SERIN find the fans.
