CREOZOTH, the new band featuring CANDLEMASS members Lars Johansson (guitar) and Jan Lindh (drums) alongside vocalist Michael Storck (X-PLODE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) and bassist Tobbe Moen (ex-REDFUN, OZ) release their debut CD on Escapi Music. The broad dimension of music that flows from Creozoth is high-potency with flaming guitar with an abundance of musical talent, which I am sure many bands wish they had.

From the hardcore opening track, “With The Flow” the stage diving shall begin and will be non-stop throughout their set. I feel the music is more powerful than the vocals on this particular CD, which lacks charisma. Even though Storck has a powerful voice I don’t feel this CD is as good as it could be. I got a little bored when I reached track-six even though the music itself was excellent; the songs lack hooks or catchy melodies that would entice me to listen to this CD a second time. “For Your Amusement” had some killer guitar work and so do many other tracks, but the spark was not there and the enjoyment that I anticipated was lost. The CD might have made a bigger impact if they lost the vocalist and made it an instrumental release.
