It must be great coming from Charleston, South Carolina, good food, great people and seems many people from the tri-state of New York and New Jersey are moving there. One thing for sure moving there you’ll be getting to hear music of up and coming bands like DEEPFIELD whose new CD “Archetypes And Repetition” is making waves worldwide.
Producers Skidd Mills and Paul Ebersol who worked with ZZ TOP, SALIVA, & THREE DOORS DOWN put their trademark touches on a phenomenal debut by DEEPFIELD who contribute SILVERCHAIR and PORCUPINE TREE as influences.
It usually takes a few spins to regard a CD as good, fair or poor but the immediate impact of driven guitars and sensational songwriting bring DEEPFIELD rising to the top. “Innocence” starts off the assault of killer sounds bringing to mind MARS VOLTA stirring the pot with hints of HINDER. The music is aggressive and vibrant and the chattering of my teeth ripping the skin makes the volume knob shoot to ten.
One of the stand out tracks “Fall Apart” is star status AOR top rotation that has all the right elements for ageless wonder listeners to the youth. This is a song that makes you feel good and will bring back memories of a broken heart being mended. There are so many great tracks like “Into the Flood” that have a harder edge it gives you an adrenaline rush, yet they’re songs that conjure up past emotions. The song that hits home was “Your Forever” that has a BEATLESQUE, THE REDWALLS flair. Baxter Teal vocals are amazing and there is no reason why I can’t see this CD going Platinum and reaching the masses.
The songwriting is perfection; the music can accumulate fans worldwide, this is just a down right nasty (in a good way) debut with pleasurable tunes with a positive vibe. DEEPFIELD has all the makings of SUPERSTARS; In De Goot put another notch in their belt.
