Slap me mama, I’m dreaming again of nasty thoughts and sleaze metal of the past. DE LA CRUZ sure as hell are the antsiest of GUNS N’ ROSES bringing back the raw hard edge of idolized icons. These guys hail from down under Aussie land but will lift your spirits that sleaze will be an entity once again. The opening track “Street Level” is a sensational tune that blasts from ear to ear with pure platinum status.
Vocally Roxxi Catalano is pummeling and demands total ovations as DE LA CRUZ shall be named the new kingpins. See it’s not just the music that involves reviewing a new band it also has a lot to do with how that music makes you feel and DE LA CRUZ are a shooting star that looks to make their mark in the industry. The songs are fun, enjoyable and pump the adrenaline levels. The guitar work by both Casey Jones and Rory Joy soar with excitement, which makes you turn the dial higher and higher.
“Cherry Bomb” is filled with killer harmonies great hooks and is another powerful song that will set DE LA CRUZ apart from others. “Dreaming” is a melodic rocker with a soft side to show diversity. This is the one that will drive the chicks wild, have the convertible top down and pump the volume, hope you have good shocks because this is the one that rumbles, move over BON JOVI, DE LA CRUZ is coming to take over.
Another power ballad comes with “Invincible” vocally Roxxi Catalano is stunning and once again the background vocals and harmonies stand tall. Listen to the elevation midway through the track. These guys echo greatness; guitars are blazing songwriting explodes just remember the name DE LA CRUZ.
The disc ends with a sentimental soft ballad called “Shine” in the vein of EXTREME’s “More Than Words”. I can only see a very bright future for DE LA CRUZ.
Put it this way take GUNS N’ ROSES, TESLA, CRASHDIET, WHITESNAKE and BON JOVI put them in a blender and you get DE LA CRUZ. Frontiers records have made great strides in signing new artists and they have a gem with this one. |
