First off, I love the dual vocals of female Ashley and male Dakota vocals as they bring two dimensions to DIRT JAKE REPLICAS. Ashley extends her vocals more towards a gothic feel when Dakota goes towards experimental sounds of TOOL.

The new release was engineer and mastered by Brin Addison of Hype Schwartz studios (SMASHING PUMPKINS, CHRIS CORNELL, INDIGO GIRLS, and SMASHMOUTH) which will bring some attention.

“Mend” has a trance like sound that will put you in a hypnotic state like PINK FLOYD does. The song is a bit lengthy, lasting over seven minutes, so sit back and enjoy.

This is a great CD for meditation and relaxations and the tinkering in your mind will have no worries as you have a mind out of body experience. Especially with the guitar work on “Raeleen” that hit experimental stages, almost in the vein of The Edge of U2 and another lengthy track over eight minutes.

As the tribal drums of “Gorde” sound I think back of the past psychedelic era and some of the music that’s being played by DIRT JAKE REPLICAS has some similarities to that era mixed with modern day experimental sounds. Some people might get bored with the songs by DIRT JAKE REPLICAS and the length of the tracks, even “Gorde” lasting over ten minutes that’s why I grabbed a case of beer and started guzzling.

I did like the songs in the beginning but for me many of the tracks seem similar and get redundant, there was not too much change in pace and music and it seemed to lose track. Like I said not a bad CD but way too much repetitiveness and the tracks being so long I lost interest.
