Luca Turilli is definitely one busy man! Fans will soon get a chance to experience Luca Turilli’s “The Infinite Wonders of Creation,” and by June, a new release by the mighty composer himself.
Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest is a completely new band and not a side project, according to the Rhapsody co-composer. Turilli has been quiet about giving any more information about the band, but it’s obvious his new female vocalist, Myst, packs quite a punch.
The general feel of “Lost Horizon” is definitely dream-like (pun intended) and ambient. It’s hard to deny that Dreamquest sounds very similar to other symphonic metal groups. Fans of the former band Nightwish will like this CD as well. Songs like “Virus,” “Black Rose” and “Energy” are definite winners on this CD, and tracks like “Sospiro Divino” offer some variety between the fast-paced songs. Luca Turilli’s keyboards work well with the music and offer a nice glimpse at what he can unleash in future releases.
Since the promo CD seems to be an early version of the final release, I assume we’ll be hearing new songs and finer mixing. Any fans of symphonic metal will definitely find a new band to admire with Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest. Rock on!
