I am an American Citizen, but I would love to live in Sweden for the music. Gemini Five will bring definitely the house down with their new release “Babylon Rockets.”
The band possesses all the right elements and plays great music to back them up. Recently I spoke with Tin Star, the lead vocalist for G5, and he showed he is a true professional - deserving and giving respect. I’m not saying he doesn’t have attitude, but it is this attitude that brings G5 to the forefront. Their new release will hit stores any day now and if I were you, I would try to pre-order it. This will be hot!!!
The band is a mix of Backyard Babies and Babylon Bombs with a style of down and dirty rock and roll. “Babylon Rockets” starts things off with catchy lyrics and this track oozes of eighties glam metal. “TwentyFourSeven” is such a killer tune that you better be wearing a neck brace because your head will be slamming. “You Spin Me Round” (Like a Record) was made famous by DEAD OR ALIVE back in the eighties and G5 does it justice in 2005. The song has not lost its luster even after 20 plus years have passed!
I was wondering if there would be a ballad on the release… And there sure was! Check out “Hardcore” because the song really highlights the vocals of Tin Star; he is accompaniedby Snoopy with some ass kickin’ licks. I really like the chances that G5 takes on with “Chemicals Between Us” a slow melodic song that is a total change in direction from all the other songs. This could be the highlight track on “Babylon Rockets” and I think that this song could realistically make the charts.
“Suicide Tuesday” is a rock till you drop tune that explodes with good harmonies and crunching guitar. G5 will definitely bring back memories of the great ole times of the glam era. I hope they keep things going because the music scene needs bands like G5.
