Ascending from the battle lorn tenements of Los Angeles roars forth HARLEQUIN, an all female death metal troupe hell-bent on rising to prominence. An anomaly for sure the band hedges its bets by combining a menagerie of styles (CORONER and DEATH spring to mind) with strict emphasis on counterpoint riffs, avalanches of time changes and a spry sense of melodic's.
Utilizing their youthful exuberance as a strategic maneuver these pretty lasses estrogen runs amok in such rampaging cuts as "House of Shadowed Mirrors" and "Spectral Requiem" proving their mettle (metal) within the confines of the constrictive and subjugating male dominated scene.
Retro in nature yet current in execution I believe they have a winning formula which should carry them wayward and beyond.
