After the successful independent debut release “Far From Close,” which sold out of all 5,000 copies, Hinder seemed on their way to reaching greater success. Following in the successful wake of bands such as Creed and Nickleback, Hinder is in that same star status. Melodic, crunching guitar licks in the vein of Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) are prominent in “Get Stoned,” which is their first video. “How Long” keeps the ball rolling and its nonstop guitar layering by Mark King and sweet but scorching vocals by Austin Winkler.
The engineering was done by Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, AC/DC), he brings excitement to this CD. Don’t expect a single boring track: the youngsters will have “Extreme Behavior” cranking, and you will be telling your kids to turn that damn thing down just like my parents did when I was a teen. Hey, maybe I will turn time back and crank this one up myself and do a reverse and have my kids telling me “Dad turn that down.” This is definitely one kick ass release: I like the balance and mix from track to track with some sentimental songs and riveting rockers. I can’t see anyone not liking this one. You should check these boys out. Their latest video is for “Lips of an Angel” - check it out here.
