Well the latest offering from INCRAVE called “Dead End” came in courtesy of Ulterium Records and if looks can be deceiving check out the inlay pictures of the CD booklet. These boys dressed in suits ala THE KNACK of past “My Sharona” fame. But hold on to your hats because INCRAVE are METAL! What metal?, no way!
INCRAVE can bring life to the dead with the phenomenal array of mind-blowing unearthly tunes. This is the first I heard of the band and they surely made an impression. “Dead End” is INCRAVE’s sophomore release with their debut The Escape coming last.
The opening track “Shattered” gives way to aggressive progression and once Johan Falk vocals comes into play you have one of the best melodic sounds you will hear. The music is hard edge yet with Falk sounding slightly DOKKEN -ish this guy is headed for fame. I am a little surprised with the underground of eighties rock slamming Sweden a band like INCRAVE has rose to the top.
Track-two “The Forgotten” is outstanding, the catchy lyrics and the possession of power exhumed by front man Falk is captivating. The great harmonies and background vocals are killer, which adds depth to the tracks. The guitars by
Jon Bålefalk and David Ohlsson are highlights that are the force and the keyboards of Jonathan Stenberg give the songs a glow.
“A Shadow in the Dark” is sure to turn heads with the caressing keyboard tapping of Jonathan Stenberg that shows rhythm and brings life to the songs. Once again, Johan Falk vocals are stunning and really projects stardom.
“The Touch Of Death” brings home the gold, aggressive, powerful and uplifting.
If not now, in the future these boys are going to be huge. I see them being world famous with holding the key of multi talent genres, mixing power metal, melodic, rock and progressive all in one.
If you looking for a hard edged ballad check out “Shades of Me” the searing guitars and tantalizing piano make this song soar!
Is there such thing as double GOLD well “Scream In Silence” is the highlight song, the song just sends chills down my back, amazing, phenomenal, a GREAT tune. The keyboards have that memory binding kinda sound, and for the third or fourth straight time Falk has the magic.
This is one band that you should check out; and make sure to pick this one up, you won't be disappointed.
