Being a staple on the Jersey rock scene for many years fronting the glam band WICKED SIN, George Becker makes his way with a new era in the history book with JADED PAST. The latest self-titled disc includes some ballads as well as rockers plus an array of special guests.
The opening track “Taken” has that same vibe as Jersey’s superstar, Jon Bon Jovi. The song is a mild rocker that has radio appeal and is sure to be a fan favorite. Another track that will attract attention is “Hurt” the song has a good up-tempo beat that has some slicing guitar work and is one for crowd participation.
The song that drew me to the attention of JADED PAST is “One Step Closer”, which has a kind of TESLA meets POISON feel. Becker really is going out on a limb compared to his days with WICKED SIN. The songs are a bit slowed down but what make the tracks killer are the sensational lyrics.
With the sound of an icon of the past,T.REX, JADED PAST rises to the top with “Roxy Roller”. It’s a really cool track that has that special ingredient to kick it into high gear. Slowing things down with “Traces” with acoustics makes you wanna pull up a bar stool and enter the world of JADED PAST; just love the acoustics on this one.
“Devils Playground” kicks it up a notch as the rhythm guitar is truly highlighted on the track, which gives the song an AC/DC feel. The leads aren’t too shabby either. “Livin’ on the Edge” is the knockout punch that JADED PAST needs to bring the disc to the masses and with the strong harmonies this one’s a keeper. The disc ends with a huge cover of the BOOMTOWN RATS “I Don’t Like Mondays” and JADED PAST just nails it.
Check out JADED PAST!
