JOHNNY CRASH all started in 1987, when the band intruded on the glam scene, recording their debut album “Neighbourhood Threat” in 1990 to fair sales. Many line-up changes would take place with new additions being Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed GUNS’N’ROSES.

JOHNNY CRASH started to record their untitled sophomore release but were subsequently dropped by their record label before it was completed. It was heavily rumored after the recording of the second album that the real reason that it never got released was due to threats from Axl Rose. Apparently Axl told the guys that he would take legal action if Dizzy and Matt were used on anything other then the upcoming GUNS ‘N’ ROSES album.

With the evils of record companies and ego’s of individuals threatening the existence of great bands, it’s amazing that with all the problems in the world music is still the one universal respite that people seek. Seventeen years later that controversial release has finally come to the light of day through David Moors Suncity Records. Titled “Unfinished Business,” which includes eleven tracks; the mold and dust has been brushed away and we’re ready to rock.

With the feel of AC/DC and pipes of Brian Johnson, Vicki Wright tears up the vocal scale with power. The energy after all these years of this past gem still competes with recordings of today. If you weren’t aware that this CD was recorded back in the day you would think it was a 2008 release! I loved the tracks with the great background vocals and harmonies giving those tracks an echoing arena feel. If you want to hear why GUNS’N’ROSES wanted Sorum, check out “Mama Don't Care” that will explain it. One of the great tracks is “Renegade” that shows versatility in the music by JOHNNY CRASH.

You have killer rockers and AOR melodic tunes with directional tune changes throughout the entire CD. You get a mixture of sounds like AC/DC, KIX, DIRTY LOOKSand SPREAD EAGLE, and a down-home feel with “In The Groove”.

With a taste like TESLA check out the song “When It Gets Hard,” a slow melodic tune with Wright capturing the essence of romance in the air. The soaring guitar by Christopher Stewart is curdling and just another stand out track on “Unfinished Business”. Ending the CD is “No Parole” that has some whip ass vibes of the great Stevie Ray Vaughn.
