Last year when we received “Cyanide” the third demo from KILL THE ROMANCE which had a five-star rating, I knew this band was going to be something special.

Shortly after Locomotive signed them and “Take Another Life” came to light. Still holding the jaw dropping curdling screams by Ville Hovi the band has not changed just matured, the guitars by Antti Kokkonen and Tomi Luoma are just not human, sounds that can pass as some of the best guitar work in metal. These guys seek and destroy the typical forces of any metal men.

“I’m Alive” starts off in the bowels of hell as maggots and parasites scrabble for cover as crunch time approaches and exterminating the simplest of minds is an easy chore. Deep hard core growls shredding glimmers of melodic metal with aggressive vocals make the song extremely pungent.

Another killer tune is “Prey” that could turn a child into the incubus with the soothing melodies that turn into raw hard chopping chords. KTR are truly a unique band that that can draw comparisons to SCAR SYMMETRY but with uncanny hooks that could even overcome a lobotomy.

Song after song is torrid and get better with each song. You can listen to some death metal release which makes no sense in direction and uncut some of the great bands out there but with KTR snapping back, showing the versatility of melodic death metal at it’s finest you can’t but help want to listen to a great CD like “Take Another Life”.

There’s such an array of imaginary images conjured up like NEVERMORE and other great bands, KTR are destined to reach star status with this album. The over layering of guitars and changing octaves which are just one of the keys holding the golden axe.

You gotta check out “Trespasser” which has hints of early METALLICA slashing the boundaries of hard-edged thrash. The world is settling into a new era and aggressive people are showing KTR they have an outlet, so sit back take the ride, strap yourself in the ride is about to start. Pick this amazing CD today!!!
