With a band history of over ten years in the music industry LIONS SHARE have etched their mark in stone yet still have that desire to concur the masses. With their new release “DARK HOURS” coming in March is it possible the band could be a household name. Let’s take a spin and see what’s ahead.

I love the first track, “Judas Must Die”, as it brings a style of OVERKILL, JUDAS PRIEST & DIO, so how can that be bad? Yeah the speed guitar by Lars Chriss pummels your eardrums so the metal horns are up on this one.

Don’t let that little tinker bell shit in the beginning of “Phantom Rider” turn your stomach because seconds later you have an ass-kicking track. A little bit heavier and more in the mold of KING DIAMOND but still with the melodic style riffing makes this another keeper.

I’m not sure “Demon In Your Mind” is not an outtake from a DIO release. It sure the hell sounds like it. I like the addition of some background keyboards and the harmonies give the track a facelift. The hard edge of LIONS SHARE brings my spirits up because we just don’t have enough heavy rockers with that special sound to keep the metal spirit alive.

“Heavy Cross To Bear” has an IRON MAIDEN meets DIO effect and Patrik Johansson shows off his pipes with amazing range. You know, regardless of the fact that LIONS SHARE will be compared to many high profile bands, it doesn’t matter. LIONS SHARE brings that full sound to the table that rocks, plus who wouldn’t want to hear more metal in the perfected mold of other greats? Tons of fans go to see cover bands playing the music of their favorite band so why not have a professional band like LIONS SHARE playing all originals sounding like some of your favorite icons? You look at worldwide reviews and almost all reviews you hear this band sounds like this or like that well LIONS SHARE are the trur winners.

Check out “Full Metal Jacket”; the song is phenomenal. Friggin’ great guitar, killer riffs, great vocals, kick ass drums; what more can you ask for? The song has great lyrics and what a chorus, this one is on the money for sure.

The last track “Behind The Curtain” starts off melodic which gains momentum with traditional downturned guitar ala “Fairies Wear Boots” by SABBATH. Cool tune with some great solos by Lars. All in all this is a good release by LIONS SHARE filled with vintage sounds yet holding a style of their own.
