After two EP’s and one full-length release, LIQUID HORIZON is back in 2007 with their new release “Revolutions.” The band explains this is a concept album portraying revolutions and struggles for freedom in the history of mankind. A trilogy in 20-minutes about the French Revolution is the climax of this record.
The opening narration is chilling how LIQUID HORIZON start off with siren’s blazing, and a voice whispers ‘Light a candle in remembrance of the dead who died for justice and freedom,’ its is so sad “Welcome To the Revolution” totally eerie with hardcore energy pumping through the headphones.
First thing listening to LIQUID HORIZON is they sound a lot like a progressive LIZZY BORDEN. “Welcome To the Revolution” is a fantastic song with highs and lows that pound your veins with adrenaline, The musicianship is way above any typical prog metal acts I’ve heard and the collaboration between each musician has these guys seeking greatness. The tunes have flavor of another past band, ANGEL but the power brought forth by LIQUID HORIZON is mind-blowing, check out “Battle Entrance” and the hard edge guitar wok by Oliver Kilthau and the sweet sounds of keyboards by Michael Heck, which is a necessity to wreak havoc from eerie to uplifting. Fantastic tune!!!
“The King (French Rev. Part 1)”, “Revolution (French Rev. Part 2)” and
“System of Terror (French Rev. Part 3)” a fantastic history lesson of great music with aggressive, killer guitar riffs, keyboards soaring, drums & bass with their deep tone that accentuates highlights in the songs.
“Last Stand” is the march to ever lasting life; they will meet in heaven as the bugle sounds ending a great trilogy of a top quality concept release called “Revolutions” by LIQUID HORIZON.
