This is a stern example of rambunctious, planned and entertaining idiocy. Well calculated at that and if Marilyn Manson, Kettle Cadaver and GG Allin have ushered in the last visages of Shock Rock before its final public burial then MANDOWN are here to perform necromantic rites on it's humiliated corpse. There is TONGUE in cheek and then there is appendage stapled firmly in cheek, MANDOWN are an exemplary example of the latter with overtly hilarious song titles like “Give it to The Girls”, “Brownstar” and the ultimate paeon to bad taste “Pussyfart” which manages to reduce a most desirable object into a shunned piece of unspectacular meat. GWAR comparisons are inevitable though my thorough visual and audible critique says SLIPKNOT colliding with ICP, regardless these modern road warrior doppelgangers could really care less as their berserker agenda is purely to entertain.

Fret not aspiring theatrical rockers, MANDOWN'S sick charms run abundantly in their histrionic songs which contain random snippets from various horror flicks and sound (at times) like the second or third cousins to WHITE ZOMBIE during their heaviest moments. They even vaguely recall the dour, doom laden and post apocalyptic snarl of SLAYER. For those seeking the next LORDI one could do much worse. This is directed at people who have a sense of humor (Or a morbidly dark one at least) and also those poor souls languishing in embitterment who need a good kick in the teeth every now and again to realize life isn't so bad after all.
