Not another pop power kiddy rock band… but is it? The tunes are bright positive and angelic. Hey, if METRO STATION can put out music to help the youth of today I am all for it. When listening to the CD I find myself reminiscing of a band back years ago called NEW MUSIK. That delivered great music like METRO STATION.

No wonder Alternative Press magazine named them one of the top underground bands in 2007 and it doesn’t hurt having Joshua Cain and Justin Pierre of the power pop band MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK producing tracks.

I love the synthesizer by Blake Healy that gives body and depth to the songs and those amazing vocals by Mason Musso and Trace Cyrus will drive the songs to the top of the charts. This is the new style of boy bands and not the typical BACK STREET BOYS that were molded generically by companies. These are true rockers that play their own instruments and are pounding the long hard road trying to make a name for themselves.

“Wish We Were Older” is an amazing array of technical arrangements and show these boys are a class act that deserve to get attention mixing a touch of new wave sounds with electro pop. With all the aggressive music that has been released by record labels of recent METRO STATION is a breath of fresh air and will draw fans from a variety of genre’s ranging from the dance crowd, alternative and pop culture kids. I mean I love metal and I thought METRO STATION banged out one killer album.

You can’t but help getting into the rhythm of the songs and have either your head rocking or foot tapping. Like I said I love synthesizer and the band does magic with perfecting the arrangements. The single “Shake It” appeared as the free "Single of the Week" in Apple's itunes Store in October and it has elements of THE CARS meaning it’s simplistic but has a great chorus and once again Mason Musso and Trace Cyrus’ vocals are smooth.

You know I can put into this review that these boys are making a name for themselves because Musso's brother Mitchel and Cyrus' sister Miley and father Billy Ray are stars of the popular TV show ‘Hannah Montana’. To tell you the truth they really don’t need the help (yet it always helps). From start to finish, there is not one filler song. I loved the METRO STATION, My kids loved METRO STATION and the world will love METRO STATION. Check METRO STATION on their current US tour with MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, MAE and ANBERLIN.
