After their 2017 self-titled release, MIDNITE CITY returns with their sophomore disc "There Goes The Neighbourhood" and it's another good one that picks up where the debut left off. The album starts off with a killer track in "Here Comes The Party" which brings back the essences of pure eighties rock.  Singer, Rob Wylde has passionate vocals that shine throughout the disc and it amazes me that they are able to transform themselves in a time machine from the glorious '80s to the modern day with such conviction. These guys blow the doors off many higher profile artists and should be recognized by the masses.

"Give Me Love" is another great tune that holds the torch for MHR/AOR gold. The background vocals are superb while the following track "You Don't Understand Me” is just an unbelievable track lyrically. Men and woman both fall prey to the emotional side of love and broken hearts and it’s all handed to you on this track.

Jumping to one of my favorite tracks, "Tonight You're All I Need"; it's a sentimental tune that
will stir memories in many. Make sure to pay attention to the lyrics because it will hit home to all those love-struck hearts.

“Hard To Get Over” is classic melodic rock at its best. A good sing-a-long track which exudes passion. It's another sentimental song that has you thinking about past or present desires.

” I don't hear one filler track so far as every song shows top-notch musicianship and writing ability. “Takes One To Know One” keeps the train rolling and doesn't let the album's momentum down one bit.

Get ready, sit back and enjoy the soft emotional side of MIDNITE CITY with "Heaven's Falling”, this power ballad sets the mood for a passionate ride of thoughts.

“Gave Up Giving Up” comes on hard with a rockin’ tune that shows the diversity in MIDNITE CITY. Mr. Miles Meakin spreads the goodness of his guitar licks on this one (as well and many other songs on the record). The midsection of Pete Newdeck on drums and Josh Williams on bass bring the power and the echoing sound of Shawn Charvette on Keyboards brings the full-body sound to great heights. This band is really cranking on all cylinders on the new album.

The last track “Until The End" concludes a phenomenal sophomore release from MIDNITE CITY as it was a very pleasurable release so go out and pick up "There Goes The Neighbourhood".
